Notice of Election by Acclamation

Each local government (municipality or regional district) is responsible for conducting its own general local election. Local governments may also conduct school trustee elections on behalf of boards of education. In Highlands, the municipality conducts elections for school trustees, for the Sooke School District and Greater Victoria School District.

Elections BC is responsible for managing campaign financing disclosure requirements, investigations, and enforcing the campaign financing and third-party advertising provisions set out in the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act.

Assistance with Voting and Curbside Voting at the Voting Place

If you are unable to mark, read or translate your ballot, an election official, friend or relative may assist you, after making a solemn declaration to not influence you and to keep your vote secret.

If you travel to the Voting Place (Community Hall) and find it difficult to get out of your car and into the building, you may request curb side voting.  An election official will bring your ballot to you.
